Petticoats

One birthday ( and in fact all birthdays since) I resolved to make the celebrations last all year.

I also started wearing dramatic outfits, particularly 50’s style dresses, with wonderful petticoats and spectacular tutus.. not just for special occasions!

This piece celebrates all things vintage, stylish, possibly frilly and definitely decadent.

I used vintage postcards and the inside patterns of antique envelopes sent in the 1950’s to create a retro feel to the petticoats and reminisce about the time when these garments were prized and worn every day.

Stamps with butterflies add a bit of nature’s own glamour. It is always a god idea to dress up.. wherever you are and wherever you happen to be going!
