‘Beach Garden’

A commissioned piece for Eva-Lotta and Taras. A unique artwork, embellished with images and text evoking memories of moments shared…

The story of this piece starts on a beach. The tide goes out quite a long way, which makes fabulous water footprints as you walk across the sand at the edge of the waves.

Little stones and shells sit in their own miniature puddles and tiny rivulets, heading back to the sea, appear like stems with flowers at the top.

Collected limpet shells and heart shaped stones feature in the piece as well as Wild Garlic flowers, teacups, Neptune, sea glass, birthdays and favourite patterns.

The piece is about love, lasting friendship and happy memories collected along the way. The interlocking circles and layers are like moments in time, and the colours change in the same way as our lives are enhanced by time spent with friends.

Hidden details and memories of Eva-Lotta and Tares appear throughout.. a special story within the flowers and foliage, shared memories told through sketches, photos, fragments stamps, maps and text.

below are a collection of images, some will be collaged as circles, or added as details ( love the boats in Grisslehamn!).. couldn’t find quality image of these so if you have any let me know.

Any that aren’t relevant can be removed/swapped, and you can send over any that you want to add ( I will work out how!.. you can decide on details later!)

Lovvvve all the vintage maps.. these fit really well with the piece and your walks along the beach are very ‘me’!
