Another one of my collections.. I remember being very small and keeping buttons and beads in a beautiful biscuit tin. The plate is also one of my collection, a very old white plate that has that gorgeous warm tone of antique ceramic. So.. some of these buttons are old and some are made by an artist based in Saltash, Cornwall.. she cuts them out like biscuits and hand paints them.. a labour of love, and worth every moment!

Kirsten lives near the river so Egyptian geese, swans, ducks, moorhens, and all the other wild birds are a big feature. The two nest paintings were inspired by a nest, which fell from a tree during a storm with high winds. The nest was not in use at the time, but it had clearly had very precious contents at some stage!
The pieces were painted on the outside of a champagne box to represent the idea of fragile contents.. the ‘twigs’ are lines of text describing eggs and nesting habits.

I don’t know if this is a northern thing.. but this lovely little plant has been so called for as long as I can remember.. The fragments of text within refer to business.. and I loved the two plants sharing a pot together.. almostas if they were gossiping with each other under those leaves!
