This series of pieces were inspired by the drawings and studies I create in my garden and wherever I find nature. Details of a moment in time, my themes include food, still life and the beautiful colours seen in nature every day.

Rhubarb is divine and elegant, the wonderful fresh green leaves on perfect pink stems that show as spring first arrives. Not only pretty, but resilient, and delicious! The stems in my rhubarb paintings are created using collaged music scores. The sound of spring as the rhubarb pops into life!

Inspired by a café where none of the chairs, cups or teapots match. I borrowed a few of their cups and made two paintings which I hope capture the essence of the many eclectic, slightly bonkers cafes out there. The collage in the background hints at the places the vintage cups may have originated, secret histories and conversations enjoyed over cups of coffee or tea over the years!
