Celebrating wild flowers, music and parties outside.. Inspired by the shoes of Marie Antoinette
Includes a certificate of Authenticity and framing instructions.
Originally inspired by the story of the twelve dancing princesses, who danced at midnight and wore their shoes out every night, Kirsten’s love of collected objects is epitomized in the shoes paintings; the ultimate collection. Shoes are worn throughout life and carry the scuffs, scrapes, wear and tear as we go. A pair of shoes are a reminder of an event or a time in life, evocative and intensely personal. Carefully chosen text, images, maps and fragments of paper are collaged onto the surface before painting. Each pair of shoes tells a story, real or imagined.. sometimes secret, obvious only to the owner of the shoes.
Juliet’s Shoes was created for a very famous Juliet.. with part of the music score and her boyfriend’s name within the piece…
