Workshop:

Inspired by vintage papers and spring flowers, the session will centre around my ‘love letter’ series painted on vintage envelopes. No skills or experience neccessary!

It will be a lighthearted creative day and chance to play with colour and collage.

We will consider the stories in my pieces and I will demonstrate my techniques. After creating a few experimental studies there will be opportunity to create a love letter piece alongside a mini sketchbook that maps the progress of your ideas.

Available resources include my studio gallery and books for inspiration, computer and printer as resource for experimentation, various papers, a vintage envelope and collected collage resources, inks, paints and pencils including gold Karisma for detailing. Sitting room with a view and my little courtyard garden for thinking time.

Guests can bring a few of their own vintage papers, envelopes or photos to use in their pieces (originals need not be used)

Itinerary:

1. Introductions

2. Considering my series of originals ‘Love letters to Florence’, critique and personal responses

3. materials intro, demonstration and experimentation

4. sketching techniques on paper, looking at flowers

5. narratives and stories told.. accompanied by a cocktail or glass of wine

6. creating a final piece

7. a celebratory ‘toast’ to the final creations and mini critique
